Tax Manager (Job Reference: TMFEB2026)

Job Description

Part-time of a minimum of 25 hours up to full-time of 35 hours per week considered.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced tax manager to join our dynamic Finance team at Sumitomo Electric Europe Ltd at our head office in Elstree.

The Tax Manager is a key role that will be responsible for all aspects of Indirect tax compliance for our UK Head Office and branch offices across Europe in Italy, Netherlands, Sweden and Finland.

You will be representing the Company and the main point of contact for dealing with tax authorities and external tax advisors within the UK and across Europe when managing tax queries and preparing tax reports and submissions. It is therefore imperative that you can build good working relationships with people from a diverse range of cultures and be an initiative-taking leader to ensure returns and tax reports are accurate and submitted within timescales.

You will also be responsible for monitoring transfer pricing ratios, preparing transfer pricing documentation and collaborating with other departments within the Company to achieve transfer pricing targets.

This role will ideally suit an individual that has been working in an in-house tax manager role for a few years and is now looking to develop their career and broaden their tax knowledge.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

• a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or similar)
• a minimum of 3 years’ post-qualified experience ideally in a multinational corporation
• a solid understanding of the VAT rules for domestic and cross-border transactions
• sound experience of other Indirect Taxes UK
• experience of dealing with transfer pricing issues / documentation
• good interpersonal and communication skills
• good computer skills – Word and Excel (intermediate to advanced level for Excel is mandatory)
• an ability to take full responsibility for your area of Finance
• a flexible approach to your work and an ability to multitask effectively and work to tight deadlines.

It would also be desirable to have a good knowledge of UK corporation tax.

Accounts Assistant (Job Reference: AA/F/FEB2026)

Job Description

Job Share – 17.5 hours per week. Tuesdays and Fridays 9.00am-17.00pm and Wednesdays 1.30pm-17.00pm (though some flexibility on days/hours will be considered).

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced accounts assistant to join our busy Finance team at Sumitomo Electric Europe Ltd at our head office in Elstree.

The Accounts Assistant is a key role within our Finance team, as the job will involve supporting our business processes, accurately completing internal and external reports and ensuring full compliance with all regulatory requirements.


We are looking for an individual who has a solid understanding of accounting principles, as you will need this to:
• manage the integrity of the Accounts Payable ledger and control all AP activities
• manage credit control by carrying out external credit checks and liaising with the credit rating agency
• post banking transactions and carry out reconciliations of bank accounts
• prepare margins analysis and accurate gross profit records
• support the production of accurate monthly accounts and month-end activities.


To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
• previous accounts work experience in a busy Finance department
• Accounting & Finance Graduate or Part-Qualified Accountant (max 5 papers to take) qualifications
• good interpersonal and communication skills
• excellent accuracy and attention to detail skills
• excellent computer literacy skills, especially in Excel and Word, with a knowledge of SAP being an advantage
• initiative to be proactive and productive and able to multi-task effectively to meet deadlines.
